OUR STORY

Cargile Jewelers was founded in 1950 by Cliff Cargile, establishing one of the earliest jewelry stores in the community. Cliff, who arrived in Oneonta with a background in jewelry making and watchmaking, fulfilled his dream by opening a small store on Main Street. With the support of his wife Kathleen, the business later relocated to its current location. Operating as partners, Cliff and Kathleen led the company until Cliff's passing in 1975. Kathleen then took over and managed the store until her passing in 2009.

In 1991, John Gooch joined Cargile's, bringing valuable expertise in the business field. He has since maintained the tradition of exceptional customer service and high-quality products. Today, Trisha Cargile Ganey, the current owner, and John Gooch guide Cargile Jewelers into its 74th year of operation.
