The La Vie Pariseinne collection originates from old Parisian workshops established over 200 years ago. Not a reproduction but a continuation of history, Catherine and her design team combine these actual, historical parts creating a timeless collection rooted in history. Our journey began in Catherine's LA garage in 1979. She then added her dream workshop in the beautiful French countryside. From our humble beginnings we moved to our current home of the last 3 decades. Our wonderful studio in Santa Monica by the sea.
La Vie Parisienne combines classic European findings and a selection of historical American pieces, each carefully rendered from the original molds and stampings. All handmade and hand set with European crystals. Our pieces are made of either 14K gold plating or "old silver", a unique French process of laying sterling silver or 14K gold over a copper or brass base. Following traditional French artisan techniques allows each classic piece to best exhibit the delicate details of these historic designs. Sourced in Europe, truly handmade in USA. We are proud to present a timeless collection that has brought real history through a century to create today's heirlooms.
IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
We are proud to present an authentic vintage story. Our original parts come from many sources in Europe which gives our pieces great detail and finishes that may vary slightly.
Silver – "Old Silver" is a traditional French method of plating, laying sterling silver over a copper or brass base.
Gold – 14 carat gold antiqued finish over a copper or brass base.
Crystal – We use European crystal, the finest crystal available.
Pearls – We use European pearls with their unique crystal core and innovative pearl coating.
Enamel – Our enameling process follows traditional French methods developed at the turn of the century. By hand applying the enamel, our artisans create pieces of art that display an evolving array of colors.
Chains – Brass plated in either "Old Silver" or an antiqued 14 carat gold.
Care & Cleaning – Use a soft, dry cotton or polishing cloth. Harsh detergents, perfume and hairspray may damage the finish. To keep your pieces in heirloom condition, store them in a pouch or jewelry bag, keeping them away from the elements.
